Hi Everyone! YAY!!! We got agility jumps now!! Here is a video showing our agility jumps that we made. They were quick, easy and not very expensive. I am still going to decorate the jumps with colored tape when I get some. I made them the same way as this video Court22132 made. Thanks Lexi :D It is so much fun now to have real jumps!! We are thinking of making 1 more jump but we'll see :) We are going to get more agility equipment soon. The sad thing is that the average dog owner will take out some type of personal loans for people with bad credit to get their dog trained professionally and the training usually doesn’t pay off. To avoid the failure and embarrassment of spending hundreds of dollars on a dog that hasn’t been trained right, here are five things that every dog owner needs to know.

Dog Training's Costs

Once your dog has accomplished basic dog training, you can take the training to the next level, by hiring a private dog trainer. Many private dog trainers charge a minimum of $25 an hour or more depending on the trainer’s previous successes.

Before hiring a professional dog trainer you should research that individual online to see if they have other satisfied customers and a pattern of dog training success.

Train Your Dog Yourself?

• Be patient – Every dog learns differently and yelling or getting upset at your dog won’t help them learn if they are not adapting to your training quickly enough.
• Never punish – If your dog isn’t picking up your training quickly enough you should never punish it. You should also stay persistent with your dog, reward good behavior, reinforce positive traits and always work with your dog on resolving bad behavior constructively.
• Be consistent – Always have training time with your dog on the same days and times each week. As your dog starts learning and picking up new things you shouldn’t hesitate to reward your dog for its new behavior.
• Short training sessions – Never overwork your dog and drill it with training because that strategy will backfire on you.

November 2010: Frances and Gracie completing their AKC Obedience Open A CDX title in Las Vegas, NV with a very nice score of 194.5 out of 200 points. Frances and Gracie was the only qualifying team in the Open A class that day.

Here is a rare visit with Mrs Nutnfancy as we pick up Allie the Mountain Dog from her ACL surgery. In this vid I discuss our views on pet ownership, puppies, talk with the vet, and discuss the prognosis. Heal time is three months and that heartbreaking news means she'll probably miss the backpacking season this year. Also, since she has always been raised in an active lifestyle, it will be hard keeping her from running and jumping during the mend. And I know a bit about the pain involved: with four knee surgeries myself I am sympathetic to the routine. I think TNPrs may find this video a bit emotional as well as you get a true glimpse into our family and Mrs Nutnfancy...we have been humbled again by our TNP audience support. At the end I show some moving memories of our time with Allie on TNP adventures. I wish you all the best with your dog and that you may also have such meaningful times.
