The amazing green horned mountain dragon is an absolutely incredible lizard. I found this Thailand lizard on a small (500m high at peak) mountain in Thailand where I usually find these lizards - but this is only the third horned mountain dragon I ever found up there. I've never seen one green and black like this. This lizard's body is maybe 10 inches and the tail adds another 12". Every time I catch one on film it just stays motionless for a long time. Once, along with two friends we cornered one on a broken off 4 foot high stump and it let us get within inches for photos and videos. Eventually we all stepped back a bit and it jumped to the ground and ran off. Kids catch these in Thailand by the tail and swing them around into a piece of concrete or a tree to kill them. Sometimes they eat them. I've caught little ones by the tail and they don't even turn around to bite. Anyway - I usually see something during this hike - and this was the coolest thing I saw that day. Oh - I did see an ant that was an inch long and massive... but, decided against sticking him in my bottle. We've all seen INCH LONG ANTS - right? Lol. maybe next time. I was sweating too hard by that point...
